Excerpt from ‘He Puna Roimata’ The story of the journey of a raindrop.
Ranginui began to cry again. The raindrop begins to move faster as the swamp fills and begins to overflow. He trickles downhill and becomes part of the tiny trickling stream. The mud is left behind as he travels over pebbles and gravel, growing as other tiny trickling streams join him on his journey. He bounces over rocks , and his tumbling motion fills the water with oxygen that little fish like the kokopu need to breathe and survive.
