Hinemoana with her endless wash upon Papatuanuku. The sand is built up with real sand with numerous layers of hues and clear medium. Each wash of wave upon the beach alters the previous shape and form of that space. The interaction between these guardians create a unique environment.
I have used Ngutukura as the pattern to emphasize the movement of the water, beneath the surface. The pattern is a comparison to the whale and the water movement as it moves through the water
