TE PUNA (The Spring)

TE PUNA (The Spring)

Excerpt from ‘He Puna Roimata’ The story of the journey of a raindrop.

The raindrop keeps moving along the land, filtered by all the roots of the trees and shrubs of the bush, till the land begins to even out. Here he is joined with his brother the swamp to become one and rest for a while. He moves slowly through the raupo and reeds where eel and pukeko hunt for the gnats and bugs that live within his waters. He is enriched with the nutrients of the land and rock, and the mud is filtered by the roots of the plants.
